Dr Gong Qin

Professor-level senior economist, Ph.D. in economics from Wuhan University, China. A “special government allowance expert” of the State Council, and deputy director of the Kinetic Energy Economics Committee of the Chinese Society of Electrical Engineering. Director of China Press Photography Society, member of China Photographers Association, member of Chinese Calligraphy Research Association.
Dr Gong Qin is the executive president of the NZ Hubei Economic Trade Cultural Association. In the past 10 years, he has planned and initiated many bilateral cultural activities between New Zealand and China. He is one of the main initiators of the sister-city relationship between Enshi and Waimakariri, planning and organizing large-scale economic, trade, and cultural exchange activities between Enshi and Waimakariri. He has been awarded the “NZ – China Friendship Contributor” certificate by the Mayor of Waimariri (2017), and has been awarded the “NZ – China Cultural Exchange Contributor” certificate by the Mayor of Christchurch (2016).
